Meet The Modern Pup Team

Owner & CEO
Megan Rios
I have been an animal lover my whole life! My main goal is to one day open an animal sanctuary where the rescue pups live in luxury. I always end up with doggos that I have found on the street and have the pleasure of reuniting them with their owners, or finding them a furrever home, and sometimes keeping them! My mission with Modern Pup is to create a safe space for pup-parents to bring their babies and know in their hearts they are being treated like family. I have 5 dogs of my own, (not including my 15 year old Boxer Missy that passed last year) and these dogs are MY LIFE! They are apart of our family and we all wouldn't have it any other way. I promise to love, give hugs and kisses to your dogs just like I do mine.

I have two doggies named Cassius and Athena, and I also have a kitty named Bits. I’ve always been a huge animal lover since the beginning of time. Being able to work in an environment that is different from anywhere else brings me so much joy and also relief as a pet parent. One of my favorite memories with my babies is when I took them to the park and for the first time I witnessed my oldest, Cassius (who I’ve had since I was 12) playing with my youngest, Athena. This was a huge moment for me because he’s never had interest in playing with other dogs and watching him let go of that boundary for her was truly phenomenal. Ultimately, it is an absolute pleasure being able to give your pups the best care as if they were my very own!

Salutations! My name is Ashley and to introduce myself here’s a little background on me; I’m currently pursuing my passion in dance with being a captain of a heels team called Mala Santas & an instructor at On Edge Dance Academy. Can’t wait until I can represent EP out in the industry!
I do have a sassy fur baby, Miss Skieballz, who I try to take with me any where I can; on the condition I always get her a pup cup. Her pervious experience at the groomers caused her to get an ear infection, which caused me hesitation to take her back. So what was the next best thing I could do to make sure my sass master was safe? Become a groomer in training who’s excited to meet the different personalities that I’m soon going to be coming across to ensure they have a safe & loving experience!

I am vet tech and groomer, and nothing makes me happier than to help animals big and small. My hobbies include artsy projects, horticulture and playing hockey. My favorite memory is when one day, I had a puppy come in to the vet that had been abandoned and was on the road for 3 weeks. Sadly the owners refused him and he was very shy around everyone in the workplace. I was able to get him to warm up to me by sitting and talking with him each day I went to work. Then when the time came to find him a new home, he was so happy to finally find someone who cared about him. I would love to warm up to your pup and get to know you as well!
